The Visitor Center is in the reconstructed courthouse building on VA 24, 13 miles (4.8 km) northeast of the town of Appomattox, VA.
The Visitor Center is open daily in winter from 8:30 am. to 5 p.m., and in summer from 9 am. to 5:30 p.m.

Arlington House
The R.E.Lee Memorial

Arlington, VA
The Memorial is accessible by shuttle bus or by a 10-minute walk from the Arlington National Cemetery Visitor Center/parking area. Access from Washington is via the Memorial Bridge. Access from Virginia is from the George Washington Memorial Parkway. The Memorial is open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., from April through September and 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., from October through March.

Assateague Island National Seashore Assateague's north entrance is at the end of Route 611, eight miles south of Ocean City, Md.. The south entrance is at the eastern terminus of Route 175, two miles from Chincoteague, VA. Daily, year-round; island open 24 hours in Maryland; 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. during daylight savings time in Virginia, with shorter hours during winter. Visitor centers open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

From Interstate 81, take the Interstate 581 exit at Roanoke and travel south on US 220 to Rocky Mount, follow park signs and travel north on Virginia State Route 122. From US 29 at Lynchburg, take US 460 west to Bedford and Virginia State Route 122 south. Daily, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., all year.

Claude Moore Memorial Farm
McLean, VA
The Clause Moore Memorial Farm is located in McLean, VA. From The Washington DC Beltway (495) take the George Washington Memorail Parkway to 123 (Dolly Madison Bvld.) West towards McLean. Take a right onto Rt. 193 (Georgetown Pike) then an immediate right onto Colonial Farm Rd. Follow to end, farm is on the left. (703) 442-7557   No one is quite sure whether this stamp actually exists. The red book says YES.
Colonial Nat'l. Historic Park
Jamestown, VA
Colonial National Historical Park is located a short distance from Interstate 64 (I-64). Eastbound from the Richmond area via I-64, take Route 199, exit 242A for Jamestown or exit 242B for Yorktown, to the Colonial Parkway. Follow the parkway to its end.

There are two slightly different stamps, one IN Fredericksburg, one at Spotsylvania & Chancellorsville.


If you have a choice go to Chancellorsville. If you are lucky enough to talk to Beth (BY FAR the leading contender for cutest Park Ranger) she may tell you about the Green Springs NRA stamp, one of the "Holy Grails" of stamp-hunting.

George Washington Birthplace is on the Potomac River 38 miles east of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and is accessible via Virginia Route 3 and Virginia Route 204. Daily, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

While a hike, the visitors center is quite nice and one of the few parks in the country with an official stamp that varies from strictly type.
George Washington Memorial Parkway
McLean, VA
The George Washington Memorial Parkway is adjacent to the Potomac River North and South of Washington, D.C. and is accessible from all major travel routes from the South and West of Washington, including I-495, I-95, and I-66. (703) 285-2600 This stamp is located at the Parkway HQ, directly next to Turkey Run Farm Park.
Great Falls Park
Great Falls, VA
Located at the intersection of Georgetown Pike (Rt. 193) and Old Domion Drive in Great Falls, VA. Daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fee, have your Golden Eagle passport handy.
Green Springs Historic District
Louisa County, VA
The district is located 1.5 miles north of I-64, on U.S. 15 from exit No. 136, the Zion Crossroads. The district is roughly bounded by U.S. 15, VA 22 and VA 613. The office is located on U.S. 33, east of the Town of Louisa, from I-64, north on VA 208, exit 143, east on U.S. 33 in the town of Louisa. District Office: daily, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; closed all national holidays. Call ahead to make sure the staff will be in the office.

The Virginia GW Parkway
Located on the river side of the GW Parkway just south of Memorial Bridge. Look for the destinctive "Wave with Seagulls" sculpture. This stamp is located at the GW Parkway HQ, directly next to Turkey Run Farm Park.
